How text message took mother’s attention from her drowning child
What could described as obsession on phone usage has caused a monther to lose her 4-year-old son through drowning.
The mother of the deceased was said to have been fondling with a message her on her mobile phone, thereby neglecting her son’s distressed call from.
It was gathered that barely 10 minutes after the middle age woman had placed her son in the shallower side of the swimming pool, a message came through her cell phone, which distracted her attention for a while, while the boy struggled to resist the chocking water, until he gave up the ghost.

The incident, which happened in China, was immediately shared by thousands Twitter accounts, thereby drawing people’s attention and the risks of leaving children unsupervised in water.
The Child Accident Prevention Trust warns that babies and children can “drown silently” in as little as five centimetres of water.
It added: “In the last six years, 30 children under 10 have drowned in a hotel or villa pool abroad. This usually happens when they wander away from their parents and fall into the pool.”
